Division Resource Pack - NEW Georgia Math Standards - 5th Grade
Teach your students how to divide whole numbers up to 4-digit dividends by 2-digits divisors (no greater than 25), for the NEW Georgia Math Standards for 5th Grade using this comprehensive printable resource pack. It has everything you need to teach this standard, including notes, practice, exit tickets, and a quiz.
***This resource is included in my year-long 5th Grade Math Curriculum Bundle (printable & digital) and 5th Grade Math Curriculum Bundle (printable) as well as my original Division resource that was created prior to the standards changing.***
There are mini-lessons to teach each of the following strategies for division with whole numbers:
- mental math (for dividing multiples of 10)
- standard algorithm
- partial quotients
This resource is complete, concise, and straightforward with a clear format. It is low-prep and easy to assign to a sub. If your students are struggling with division using whole numbers, especially with two-digit divisors, this resource is for you!
This resource is also part of my 5th Grade Math Year-Long Curriculum Bundle.
Common Core Standards (CCSS) and Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE): 5.NBT.6
NEW Georgia Mathematics Standards: 5.NR.2.2
NR - Numerical Reasoning
Introduce each skill with the detailed set of notes and sample problems. I suggest doing this in a whole group setting and pulling the PDF up on a Smartboard so students can annotate over the models.
Gradually release students to practice independently using the practice pages. Check for understanding and mastery after teaching each skill using the exit tickets.
When all skills have been taught, assess with the final quiz when you feel students are ready.
